Flying in the face of the Zeitgeist, Ian McNabb’s anthemic choruses, literary lyrics and distinctive baritone soon propelled the band into the charts with breakthrough hits including “Love Is A Wonderful Colour” and “Birds Fly”.
Further hits and top 40 albums followed, while the bands live shows became the stuff of legend, with setlists taking many detours including Doors and Neil Young covers.
In the 1990s McNabb launched a successful solo career, recording his Mercury Prize nominated “Head Like A Rock” album in the US with Crazy Horse.
Recent years have brought reformations and now Ian, along with fellow founder member Chris Layhe, is performing intimate acoustic shows focussing on the bands classic 80s repertoire. A special night is in store.
